Holy Trinity Pre-School Policies and Procedures

School Hours: 9:00 a.m. – Noon

Optional Lunch Bunch: 12:00-12:45 p.m.

Arrival and Departure: Doors are unlocked at 8:55 a.m. Regular school day pick up is at Noon. Children staying for Lunch Bunch must be picked up by 12:45 p.m. Please be prompt to avoid late fees.

Parking: Please do not park in handicap spaces.

General Fee Information:

Tuition and fees are due by the 10th each month unless your family is enrolled in auto-draft. In this case, parents may choose the monthly payment date.
Payments made after the 10th of the month will be assessed a late fee of $20.

Supply Fees:

$70 supply fee due in September.

Registration Fee:

$40 (includes insurance) is due at the time of registration.

Class Size and Make-up: Class size is a joint decision of the directors and the Preschool Advisory Team. Children with special needs will require case by case evaluation.

Pick-up Procedures: Children will not be released to anyone unless authorized in writing by parent(s) or guardian(s) in advance of the pick-up. Authorization may be given via text or email to the teacher.

Health Requirements: All children should be appropriately immunized, according to their ages as outlined by the North Carolina Child Health and Safety Resource Center and NCDHHS DCDEE. Immunization and Health Information Forms are due by the first day of school. Be sure to indicate any special needs and allergies.

Toilet Training / Diapering:

Three and Four year classes: Must be “potty-trained” and require minimal assistance
One and Two year classes: We ask that parents provide diapers, pull-ups, baby wipes, etc.
Pull-up diapers must be able to open and close using side fastenings.

Discipline:

Any unacceptable behavior will be modified by redirection, verbalization and problem-solving.

Separating from the group or time-out will be used only as a last resort.
Concerns with behavior will be discussed by the directors with the parents.
Confidentiality will be respected by both program staff and parents.

Removal from the Program:

HTLC Preschool has the right to remove a child from the program in the event that the developmental needs of a child cannot be met or if one child’s needs deprives other children of the right to learn. Parents/Caregivers are expected to help maintain a healthy preschool environment. Children may be removed from the program if family members are not respecting the policies and values of Holy Trinity Preschool.

Biting:

Parents of both the biter and bitee will be notified in the event their child has been involved in a biting situation. Should the biting continue, a meeting with the directors will be requested. Parents may be asked to pick up their child from school if the teachers and directors decide this is necessary for the safety of the classroom.

Field Trips:

Signed permission forms are required.
Parents/Caregivers are responsible for installing their child’s car seat if their child will be riding in another vehicle.

Snacks and Lunch:

Each child is asked to bring their own mid-morning snack with a drink (no glass, please).
Any decisions regarding restricted food items due to allergies will be reevaluated yearly (or as needed)
Food items which pose a choking risk to small children are not allowed, such as: popcorn, nuts, carrots, hotdog, hard candy

Visitors:

Parents/Caregivers are encouraged to visit the classroom and/or give assistance on field trips.
Please give the directors a courtesy call if you plan to visit and observe.
Because of liability and insurance restrictions, children who are not enrolled in Holy Trinity Preschool will not be permitted to participate in Holy Trinity Preschool classes.

Personal Possessions:

Please label all possessions brought to school with your child's name and supply a change of clothes in your child’s bag. We ask that children do not bring toys from home.

Inclement Weather:

Holy Trinity Preschool follows the Hickory City Schools calendar for holidays, teacher work days and inclement weather cancellations. In the case of a delay, we will open at 10:00 a.m. Preschool hours and days that are missed due to inclement weather, holidays or teacher workdays will not be made up. Extra Days:

Children are to attend school on their registered days only. In the event an extra day is needed (without registering for more days), there will be an additional fee. Extra days are available on a first-come, first-served, space-permitted basis with a 24-hour notice.

All ages are based on 8/31 of entering year.

All classes are offered 5 days per week and you may choose which days your child will attend.

Holy Trinity Preschool reserves the right to change any of these policies/procedures as necessary. Families will be notified of any changes.
